Things kicked off with spring calving in February, when Matthew Halpin and Peter Thomas Keaveney spent 24 hours on the Curran family farm at Ballylangadon, Grange, Co Waterford.
In March, milk production was ramping up after a tricky start to the year on the Greenfield demonstration farm in Co Kilkenny. Jack Kennedy had this update at a crucial juncture for the farm.

While dairy sector officials insist that a collapse in milk prices is not imminent, they said returns were likely to plateau at current levels.
