The third production sale of the Ballinlare Farm and Ranfurly Simmental herds took place in Dungannon on Friday, with trade topping at 7,000gns.

The sale-topper came in the form of the January 2019-born Ranfurly Beauty 13th from the Hazelton family. Sired by Canadian-bred bull Grinaltas Excel 8N, he is out of Ranfurly Beauty 8th who is a full-sister to the Irish record-priced bull Curaheen Tyson.

Sold directly ahead of this lot was Ranfurly Weikel 30th, meeting her reserve at 5,600gns. Another January 2019-born heifer, she was sired by Cleenagh Flasher and is out of a Raceview King-bred dam. This heifer is no stranger to success, having won her class at the national show in Omagh in 2019.

Team Celtic daughter Ranfurly Weikel 27th hit the market at 5,500gns. Inseminated to Curaheen Bandit, this stylish heifer boasted the highest milk figure in the catalogue. A maternal sister to this lot sold for 9,100gns at the first production sale held by the two herds.

Ranfurly Weikel 38th ended the sale on a high, selling for 5,200gns. This exceptionally long ET-bred heifer was offered for sale at only eight months of age. She is a daughter of well-known Carnkern Titan and out of the original Weikel cow South Park King Kong Weikel who is classified EX93. A full brother to this heifer, Ranfurly Formula One, stood champion in Stirling back in October 2016 before selling for 15,000gns.

The Wilson family got their top lot, Bannhill Farm Jink, away at 4,900gns. This direct daughter of Raceview King is out of an Auchorachan Wizard-bred dam and sold in calf to Rabawn Ernie.
