Some 3,400 weanling bulls are due to load on Friday for export to Turkey.

The stock have been assembled by Global Livestock Exports and Castleisland Mart and have completed veterinary quarantine.

The Turkish government has not yet lifted its temporary ban on live cattle imports, which was put in place to stabilise domestic cattle prices. The contract being filled this week was in place before the ban was announced.

Nonetheless, the two export groups involved are hopeful of repeat orders.
