A yellow weather warning is in place with gusts of 110km/h expected this week.

Met Eireann have put a weather warning in place for tonight through to Wednesday night, as southerly winds are forecast to reach average speeds of between 45 and 65km/h. Gusts of 110km/h is also expected during Tuesday and Wednesday.

Heavy rain will spread southeastwards across the country tomorrow (Tuesday) while Wednesday will bring storm force winds with damaging gusts, heavy rain and hail. Heavy rain and gales will continue into Thursday, with the possibility of snow over parts of Ulster.

The wintery unsettled weather is set to continue into Friday and the weekend.
