Friday

Friday morning will be cold with frost and wintry showers, according to Met Éireann. Isolated showers will continue into the afternoon. Highest temperatures will range from 4°C to 6°C.

Friday night will start off mainly dry, with frost and icy patches developing. Lowest temperatures will range from -1°C to +2°C.

Rain will develop in the west and will spread eastwards to all areas overnight. However, fresh, gusty, southerly winds will cause temperatures to rise, which will clear any frost.

Saturday

Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain in many areas. Drier intervals will develop for a time during the day. However, persistent or heavy rain will spread from the west through the late afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures will range from 9°C to 12°C.

Saturday night will be windy, with wintry showers developing overnight. Lowest temperatures will range from -2°C to +2°C, with frost and icy patches developing.

Sunday

Sunday will be very cold, with sunny spells and wintry showers and a risk of thunder. Highest temperatures will range from 2°C to 6°C. On Sunday night, wintry shower will continue, with accumulations of snow in places. Frost and icy patches will develop also. Lowest temperatures will range from -3°C to 0°C.

Monday

Monday will be cold, with highest temperatures of 4°C to 7°C. Rain, sleet and snow will fall in many areas during the evening. Overnight temperatures will be as low as -3°C to 0°C.

Tuesday will be cold, with good sunny spells and some scattered wintry showers for a time. Highest temperatures will range from 3°C to 6°C. On Tuesday night, frost and ice will develop for a time. Rain and strong southerly winds will spread overnight.

The longer-term forecast is for it to be cold, with ongoing wintry showers.
