Monday

Monday is forecast to be a cool, bright and fresh day with good sunny periods, with scattered showers also especially across Connacht and Ulster.

Afternoon highs will range from 6°C to 9°C in moderate westerly winds.

Met Éireann has said that there will be frost for a time on Monday night but wet and windy weather will spread eastwards overnight and temperatures will rise.

Tuesday

It will be wet and windy for much of Tuesday, with persistent rain in fresh to strong southerly winds. The rain is forecast to clear away later in the day, bringing afternoon temperatures of 9°C to 12°C. Frost is forecast overnight along with some showers.

Wednesday

Wednesday is forecast to be a brighter day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Met Éireann said that highest temperatures will vary between 6°C to 9°C and moderate or fresh southwest winds.

Current indications for the remainder of the week suggest that the weather will be unsettled with rain or showers most days and some windy spells are possible also.

Farming forecast

Met Éireann has said that rainfall is expected to be above average in all areas over the coming week, with up to twice normal rainfall forecast for parts of Mayo.

All soils are saturated at the moment and some poorly drained soils are waterlogged. Some moderate drained soils may become waterlogged at times over the coming week, Met Éireann has warned.
