According to Met Éireann, Monday will be mainly cool and dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. A few scattered showers will occur, mainly in Atlantic coastal counties.

Highest temperatures will range from 15°C to 19°C in light to moderate westerly breezes. Monday night will be mostly cloudy, with rain and coastal fog developing.

Tuesday

Tuesday will be a mostly cloudy day, with rain clearing in the early morning. Dry spells will follow but it will remain mostly cloudy. In places, patches of rain and drizzle will persist.

The day will be quite warm and humid, with maximum temperatures of 17°C to 22°C in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds. By night, a band of persistent and heavy rain will extend from the Atlantic.

Wednesday

Wednesday is set to be bright and sunny, with some scattered showers. Maximum temperatures of 16°C to 21°C are to be expected in moderate southwest breezes.

Thursday

Thursday will be dry in most areas with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Patches of mist, drizzle and fog will develop in southern and western coastal areas. Max temperatures of 18°C to 21°C are expected.

Weekend

The outlook for the weekend is uncertain but current indications suggest the weather will be unsettled but quite warm.

Farming outlook

The weather is to remain mixed early this week while warmer conditions are in store for the second half of the week. Up to Friday, another 20mm to 40mm of rain expected, with no areas remaining rain free.

Temperatures early in the week will be below average for most of the country, between 16°C and 17°C. Soil temperatures will remain slightly above average.

Drying conditions

Drying conditions will vary, with a mostly dry day on Monday and patchy rain forecast for Tuesday. Wednesday will be a mostly dry day, with improving conditions and becoming mostly warm. Humidity will be high towards the end of the week, which will decrease drying.

Spraying

There will be an opportunity for spraying on Monday, however it will rain in most areas on Monday night. Wednesday onwards will be more suited, with mostly dry weather.

Field conditions

Soils are slightly above saturation in the east and southeast, with soils generally saturated elsewhere. Heavy rain on Tuesday will lead to excess surface water for most of the country.
