Met Éireann has issued an advisory weather alert for very unsettled and wintry weather from Friday 29 January, which will last until Sunday.

It will be cold, with falls of snow and icy conditions, which will bring a risk of localised flooding.

Affected counties are Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.

Rain warning

There is also a status yellow rain warning in effect on Saturday 30 January until 3pm for Wexford and Wicklow.

Heavy rain is predicted, with accumulations of up to 40mm and a risk of flooding in some areas.
