Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.
Counties have been warned to expect high winds from 12pm on Wednesday 10 March until 7am on Thursday 11 March.
From Wednesday afternoon through to Wednesday night, southwest to west winds will reach mean wind speeds of 50km/h to 65km/h, according to Met Éireann.
Gusts will range from 80km/h to 110km/h. They will be higher in exposed locations.
