Is there a woman in your life who deserves recognition for her hard work on the farm?

Launching our Women & Agriculture Awards 2018, brought to you by Irish Country Living and FBD Insurance, we are looking for women who make a real difference to farming.

Between farming and working, running a home, caring for children or parents and dealing with everything else life throws at us, women rarely take time to recognise or celebrate their own successes.

So we are set to recognise these achievements with our Women & Agriculture Awards, brought to you by Irish Country Living and FBD Insurance.

These awards, which are in their fourth installment, celebrate the essential role women play on farms.

Margaret Farrelly took the top award at European level.

We have two categories and in our innovation on farm award, we’re really looking for women who are farming in their own right or in a partnership, and whose contribution has been essential to the success and profitability of the farm.

In the agribusiness and innovation award, we are on the search for a woman who looked at the farm and saw immense opportunity through diversification, making a success of that business idea.

Irish women have had outstanding success with these awards.

With the support of the Irish Farmers Association, our applicants are sent forward to COPA, the European farm organisation, and they are judged against their counterparts across every country in the EU.

Previous Women & Agriculture award winners Ann Moore and Margaret Farrelly both took the top award at European level.

Ann Moore (pictured) and Margaret Farrelly both took the top award at European level, meaning Ireland was successful in two out of the three times we entered.

Our entries have also come in the top 10 every time, signifying our success at innovation and farm diversification.

We are looking for these women once again. Are you one of those women or do you know someone who fits the bill? If so, send us your nomination.
