A status yellow wind warning has been issued for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo.

The warning will come into effect on Monday at 9pm and will remain in place until 8am on Tuesday.

Met Éireann said that southwesterly winds will reach mean speeds of 50km/h to 65km/h and gusts of 90km/h to 110km/h.

“Where winds are onshore there is a risk of coastal flooding around high tide,” it said.

The weather for the week ahead is forecast to begin mild, but it will continue to be unsettled.
