The IFA is about farmers, standing together, supporting each other. I am encouraging all farmers to get more actively involved in what IFA does, to strengthen the Association and ensure we are fully representative.
As an IFA member, you can have real influence. All IFA representatives are farmers like you. They make decisions that direct and shape IFA policy, which in turn guides national and EU policy.
But IFA is not just a lobby group, we are a community, with links in every town, village and parish across Ireland.
Your local County Chairs are listed below. They are fully accessible to you, and they want to hear from you if you’d like to get more involved at branch or county level, if you’re interested in sitting on a committee, or if you just want to give your view.
Our Association has a powerful voice to use on behalf of farmers, but to grow and stay strong, we need as many farmers as possible to contribute to it. You invest so much time and effort in your farm; invest some in IFA and you can help to shape your industry and improve conditions for you and your fellow farmers.
Joe Healy IFA President
The County Chair is the key IFA leader in your county, and represents farmers in that county on IFA’s governing body, National Council.

Get involved in IFA
Want to get more involved with IFA or find out how you can take on a leadership role? We would be delighted to hear from you! Please contact futureleaders@ifa.ie or talk to your County Chairperson to find out how to get more actively involved in the IFA and hear about our leadership training opportunities.
Campaigning on the next CAP Budget
The new CAP is one of the most crucial issues facing farmers. With initial proposals on the shape of CAP post–2020 published, your IFA representatives are working at home and in Brussels to seek an increase in farm payments and a programme that works for farmers with real simplification on requirements and inspections.
You can too – download a lobby document at www.ifa.ie/CAP2020 and talk to your local TDs, Senators and MEPs.
