It has been 12 years since Zero Grazer came to its first Ploughing Champsionships. Time has shown that this company was many years ahead in farming trends, according to MD of Zero Grazer Niall O’Reilly.

Niall said: “Many people told us we were wasting our time, it would never take off. Now a lot of the same people are customers.”

Niall says that zero-grazing, robotic milking and buffer-feeding with grass are all common talk now among farmers looking to expand and increase yield.

Zero Grazer continues to grow. At this year’s Ploughing in Tullamore, the company takes centre stage, where its machinery will be used to zero-graze the 40 dairy cows being milked by the Lely Robot. This is a world first according to the organisers. Nowhere in the world at any exhibition has there been a zero-grazing, robot combination.

Zero Grazer is looking foward to the whole setup and have been busy preparing over the last few weeks.

Niall says: “The concept of zero-grazing has been around for decades. Our company continues to prove it works and provides 15 different sizes of machines to carry out the job efficiently.”

Zero Grazer machines are made close to the village of Dromone, Oldcastle in Co Meath, with full in-house control of engineering drawings, fabrication and painting process.

The company will launch its new-look ZG80, with the 2.3m (7ft 6”) drum mower. Alongside that, the ZG100 with its 2.6m (8ft 6”) disc mower will also be on show. This is the largest in the range and one of the more popular machines sold in 2016.
