Over the past number of months, Zetor has announced a plan to set its brand on a new and more progressive path in Ireland. To back this statement up, the company’s Ireland and UK managing director Nigel Wilson has said the brand will have “a more pronounced presence” at the event in Carlow.

Supported by what Wilson calls an “enthused and invigorated” dealer network and further backed by the company’s HQ in Brno, Zetor’s attendance at the three-day event will centre around its expanded and upgraded range.

This includes a number of models new to Ireland, and others equipped with new specifications, technology and updated bodywork.

The new Forterra series is set to make an appearance at the Ploughing in its larger HSX140 version.

The flagship range-topping Crystal HD170 is set to take centre stage on the stand. We previously reported that Zetor has sold two of these tractors in Ireland this year, the first new Crystal tractors to be sold here in 27 years. The Crystals are powered by a 6.1l, six-cylinder Deutz engine, with a maximum output of 171hp. The powershift transmission is built in-house by Zetor itself. The front axle is built by Cararro, while it’s equipped with Bosch hydraulics.

Proxima

Making its debut will be the new, Proxima CL110 T2. This tractor now comes on larger wheels and has increased horsepower. This will feature alongside an 117hp Proxima HS120 T2, equipped with a ZQ4s front-end loader. A Major CL80 with a redesigned bodywork will also be on the stand.

The new Forterra series is also set to make an appearance, in its larger HSX140 version. The smaller Utilix HT55 will also be on display.

Finance

Zetor will be launching a new partnership with Finance Ireland at the Ploughing. This will be for both funding of customer purchases and dealer stocking.

Wilson said: “Zetor is now configured to be more competitive than it has been in recent times.”

With a current Irish dealer network of 10, “it will be an ideal occasion to meet those prospective dealers we need to bring our network up to the 15 or so outlets required to fill our remaining vacancies, north and south of the border”.
