Arrabawn is paying suppliers 31.93c/l excluding VAT for manufacturing milk in June, with butterfat at 3.6% and protein at 3.3%.

Arrabawn’s milk price for May was 30.98c/l excluding VAT.

The Carbery group of co-ops in west Cork have also increased its June milk price by 1c/l having done this in May also.

Dairygold have also rose their milk price on Monday to 31.7c/l excluding VAT and including the 0.5 c/l quality bonus.

The co-op's became the latest processors to raise its milk price after Glanbia and Kerry followed Lakeland’s lead last week.

June milk prices so far

  • Lakeland: 31.3c/l excluding VAT was set last Tuesday.
  • Glanbia: 31.22c/l excluding VAT was set last Thursday.
  • Kerry: 31.2c/l excluding VAT was set last Friday.

    Ornua’s purchasing price index (PII) for June has jumped more than three points since May.

    The PPI for June was published on Wednesday and now stands at 110. This is up from 106.8 in May.

    A PPI of 110 represents a farmgate milk price of 31.42c/l (excluding VAT). This is the highest the PPI has been at since the Russian food embargo was first introduced in August and September 2014.
