The Department of Agriculture is working to resolve a “limited number” of cases of GLAS farmers who cannot submit their BPS applications due to their GLAS data being amended. “In effect, we are doing this in order to ensure that the underlying payment for GLAS down the line is correct,” a spokesman for the Department said.
“The cases currently held from applying for BPS could be released to apply for BPS now but we are looking to avoid an issue down the road on the GLAS payment.”
For those farmers affected, the online system will give them a notification reading: “Please note your GLAS information is currently being updated. This process will be completed shortly and you will be able to access your 2017 application at that stage.”
