Approval has been granted for a 10-year permission for the development of a solar PV farm consisting of up to 34,334 square metres of solar panels, to be ground-mounted on steel frames.

It is reported that the facility will be able to provide enough power to supply approximately 2,000 homes.

Also included in the development will be a substation, inverter cables, underground cables and all associated site works. The development will be located at Firgrove, Sixmilebridge. The company responsible for the development will be Terra Solar Ltd. The proposed solar panel will be connected to the national grid.
