The week before co-ops face farmers at the Ploughing, all have raised the milk price for August. On Tuesday, Lakeland increased its milk price by 1c/litre, bringing the August price to 23.7c/l, excluding VAT.
Glanbia Ingredients Ireland increased by 2c/l and there was a 2c/l co-op top-up bringing the price paid to co-op members to 23.7c/l. Kerry increased the August milk price by 2.5c/l to 23.7c/l.

Beingmate, one of the largest Chinese formula companies, is planning increased investment in baby powder production in Ireland. Speaking to the Irish Farmers Journal in Beijing last week, Tao Huang, CEO of Beingmate, said he has initiated contact with Kerry Group over expanding production from Charleville.
