I have heard about a few cases of grass tetany and E coli mastitis in cows over the last week.
The cows that got the grass tetany were not being supplemented with magnesium.
With the change in the weather and colder nights, cows are obviously under a bit of stress and are at a higher risk.

If feeding meal anyway, including calmag in the ration is probably the simplest way of supplementing, but paddock dusting and including magnesium in the water are alternatives.
Don’t forget to give the booster shot of salmonella vaccine to in-calf heifers, if they were first injected three or four weeks ago.
