Cold slows the sale of fertiliser

With cold weather sweeping the country, fertiliser sales have slowed. 18:6:12 is slightly back, trading at €370 to €375/t, with western counties reporting slightly higher prices between €380/t and €390/t.

Prices as low as €360/t have been quoted in some northern counties.

Urea stocks have been depleted in most parts with the good weather. However, small quantities are still available for €340 to €380/t in some parts.

CAN

CAN is showing variation, with merchants quoting prices between €263/t and €300/t. Again, lower prices seem more prevalent in northern counties.

10:10:20 has stayed constant around €400/t, but has been bought as low as €385/t.

The price for 24:2.5:10 is about €385/t, with 27:2.5:5 slightly less at €375/t, but prices as low as €365/t are available.

Beef nuts, straw and fodder prices

Beef nuts are trading between €245/t and €277/t for a standard beef nut. On the dairy side, 14% dairy nuts blown in as €230/t to €235/t with 16% dairy nut at €240/t. Good demand for straw remains. Round bales of straw are around €10 to €12 collected and €16 delivered locally and up to €25 to western parts. Prices as low as €8, collected, for lesser-quality straw are also being quoted. Square 8x4x3 bales are going at €20 to €25 collected and anything from €30 to €40 delivered. Fodder beet is trading between €30/t to €33/t, with local delivery in the south quoted at €8/t, but up to €45/t paid for longer draws.
