A driver who was towing a three-wheeled trailer full of ewes was pulled over by gardaí this morning.

The Wicklow farmer had 30 ewes on board the trailer when he was stopped.

The driver was “left sheepish” according to the ever-entertaining Garda traffic corps twitter feed @GardaTraffic.

“You won't pull the wool over our eyes!” the traffic corps warned.

The vehicle and trailer were escorted back into a nearby field and the driver was issued with a fixed penalty notice.

Earlier this week, a three-wheeled tractor was stopped by gardaí in Co Tipperary.

The New Holland was missing a front wheel, which was tied to the rear of the trailer it was towing.
