The driver of the lorry, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The 25-year-old male driver of the tractor was taken to University Hospital Waterford with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash occurred at approximately 3pm between the Luffanny and Granny roundabouts on the N25.
The Garda forensic collision investigators examined the scene and the local coroner has been notified.
