Ploughing 2017 has come and gone but what a great success with record attendance. It was a great few days despite the rain on Wednesday. New products caught the eye of many a visitor which is why we are taking a second look at what was launched and introduced to the Irish market for the first time. We also publish the results of all categories and age groups.

This week marks a first for the FTMTA as they are to hold an unreserved auction of farm machinery in Punchestown. This will definitely draw a crowd with some exceptional items entered. We preview what’s to be expected.

The harvest unfortunately persists in some regions with conditions becoming extremely difficult with bad weather, shortening days and softening ground. Alistair Chambers takes a look at what can be done to make combining easier on both man, machine and the ground.
