Kevin O’Malley, the influential and highly respected US ambassador to Ireland who has served in the post since 2014, this week joined the board of Greencore.

Commenting on the appointment, Gary Kennedy, chair of Greencore, said: “We are very pleased that Kevin is joining the board. He brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to support the group’s overall growth and in particular our vision to build a large-scale, high-performing convenience food business in North America.”

Prior to that, Kevin spent 11 years as partner of Greensfelder, Hemker, and Gale, PC, addressing the legal needs of business organisations in the US. He co-founded The O’Malley Law Firm in 1989, which later merged with Greensfelder, Hemker, and Gale, PC in 2003.

Kevin was a member of the Missouri, Illinois, and District of Columbia bar associations. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from Saint Louis University in May 2016 and also holds a juris doctorate degree from Saint Louis University.

He is an investor in several casual dining restaurants in St Louis and Washington DC.

He joins other non-executive directors John Moloney, Heather McSharry, Sly Bailey, John Warren, Eric Nicoli and Conor O’Leary.
