Tuesday’s sale at Ballymena Mart saw over 150 store cattle on offer. The trade was said to be very strong, with plenty of buyers active.
Forward bullocks over 500kg sold mainly from £1.85/kg to £2.22/kg or from £550 to £700 over the weight.
Lighter bullocks under 500kg sold from £2.08/kg to £2.38/kg or from £450 to £600 over the weight.
The heifer trade was strong also. Those over 500kg sold mainly from £1.84/kg to £2.20/kg or from £450 to £700 along with the weight.
Lighter heifers under 500kg sold from £2.05/kg to £2.27/kg or from £450 to £550 over the weight.
Sheep
Monday evening’s sheep sale was met with a sharper trade than the previous week.
Springing ewes sold to a top price of £160, with ewe lambs making up to £225.
