The bales have been decorated as part of a competition for the annual An Tóstal festival.

"Firstly people were wondering what the bales were and now it's become very popular, everyone is jumping on board," festival chair Hugh James Gallagher told the Irish Farmers Journal. "We'll be judging them on Saturday and the winner will announced on Sunday after the parade."
The bales can be found on the roads to and from Drumshanbo and also in the village itself.
The winners will take home €300 in prize money while first and second runners up will receive €200 and €100 respectively.
