The National Ploughing Association Innovation Arena is the perfect place to launch new innovations and this year, Irish Farmers Journal readers can vote for their favourite innovation in the People’s Choice category.

The NPA Innovation Arena puts inventions from Ireland on show to the world and helps establish their success by introducing them to the marketplace and facilitating networks that will help them take steps towards achieving commercial success.

In the build-up to this year’s Ploughing championships, each day we profile four of the innovators.

Agrify Solution’s

Tyre2tyre can be used to safely recover a flat wheel by pumping it and getting the vehicle back on the road without the need for a compressor, wheel replacement, or other high-tech equipment.

Not alone will the innovation be relevant in the agri-sector but also the automotive sector. The product is pending patent submission.

Dam Easy Flood Barriers

This innovation creates a watertight seal around the door reveal when installed. This unique seal contains a patented pneumatic pump action seal.

The competitive advantage of Dam Easy comes from ease of installation (maximun five minutes) without the use of any tools of fixings either temporary or permanent. The unique domestic and commercial flood barrier is patented.

Alltech Farming Solutions Ltd

The Keenan MechFiber 345SP on show in the arena is the first in a new generation of unique self-propelled diet feeders.

It is available in 15kmph or high-speed “Plus” 25km/h models.

Engineered with Keenan-built quality throughout the SP machine features a heavy duty sealed oil bath drive system and a mechanical transmission reducing fuel consumption up to 25%. They are also showing their in touch and Mechfiber mix.

Analog Devices

Crop Connect from Analog Devices that provides sense and measurement technology within agricultural projects to help farmers manage their crops.

It allows farmers to calculate growing conditions leading to better harvest, using sensor systems to get better yield for crops.

The company is a Global Semiconductor Company with a base in both Limerick and Cork.

Voting

The competition takes place over the three days of the National Ploughing Championships from 19–21 September and the winner will be announced on the final day.
