The weather is set to be mild and humid today, with a mix of cloud and warm sunny spells. Low cloud, mist and patchy drizzle will affect parts of Munster and Leinster, however, and a few light showers may develop elsewhere during the afternoon. Afternoon temperatures will range from 16°C to 20°C, with highest values across the midlands and west. There will be light to moderate southerly breezes, freshening near Atlantic coasts later.

Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy but staying largely dry. Areas of mist and fog will move on to southern and eastern coastal fringes at times. It will be mild with lowest temperatures of 10°C to 13°C in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Weather conditions conducive to the spread of potato blight are likely to develop later on Wednesday and through Thursday in coastal fringes of the south and southeast. There will be some opportunities for spraying this afternoon and evening.
