The boards of Kerry, Aurivo and Carbery have all agreed price cuts for May milk.

Kerry has announced that its milk price is being cut by 2c/l meaning that its May milk price will be 28c/l. The month of May accounts for 18% of Kerry’s milk intake so therefore is a crucial month for Kerry suppliers. The Kerry board met on Tuesday afternoon.

In the west, the Aurivo board has agreed to cut its milk price by 2c/l from 30.5c/l to 28.5c/l following a board meeting on Tuesday. However, Aurivo will use its stability fund to add 1.5c/l meaning that Aurivo suppliers will be paid 30c/l for May.

In Cork, the board of Carbery met on Tuesday night and decided on a cut of 1c/l to 27.80c/l (VAT exclusive) which brings the VAT inclusive price to 29.1c/l.

Lakeland Dairies announced last Thursday that it was cutting its May milk price by 1.5c/l. Dairygold will meet tomorrow afternoon where a price cut is expected to be made.
