Lakeland has held its milk price at 29.7c/l excluding VAT for February supplies, it was confirmed on Monday 13 March.

The board’s decision to hold the price it will pay to farmers for February milk follows a 1c/l increase in the price it paid for January supplies.

Glanbia

Meanwhile, the board of Glanbia met on Monday and has decided to also keep February milk price unchanged.

The Glanbia milk price for February is 29.3c/l excluding VAT at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

Other co-ops will be setting price for milk supplied in February in the coming days.

Glanbia chair Henry Corbally said that the Glanbia board will “continue to monitor dairy markets on a monthly basis”.

Ornua PPI

Last week, the Ornua purchase price index (PPI) for February was unchanged from January.

The PPI stands at 105.4 for February, unchanged from January. This is the first time the monthly index did not rise since starting its recovery from the rock-bottom value of 81 last summer.
