The deadline for spreading farmyard manure is 31 October 2016. The prohibited farmyard manure application period starts from 1 November.
According to the Department, you must not store farmyard manure in a field during the prohibited spreading period for farmyard manure. You can store it in a field during the spreading season, but you must store it in a compact heap and you cannot store it within certain buffer zones outlined on the Department’s website.
Farmyard manure is the only organic fertiliser that may be stored in a field during the spreading season and no organic fertiliser may be stored in the field during the prohibited spreading period.
