On Wednesday, the IFA released details of the salaries of its executive management team for the financial year ended March 2016. The executive management personnel comprising of three people received a total of €591,651, including employer pension contribution. This equates to an average remuneration of €197,217 each.

The report identifies executive management as the secretary (for 2015 the assistant secretary general), director of organisation and financial controller.

The next 15 senior staff in the IFA received an average remuneration of €127,685 each, including pension contribution.

The deputy president received an annual salary of €35,000. The IFA paid €238,805 in labour replacement to the 52 members of its executive council in the past year, equivalent to €4,592 each on average.

The IFA published the salaries of its president and newly appointed director general earlier on Wednesday.

IFA said it had operated a deficit of €830,000 in the April to September period this year as a result of a 17% decline in operational income compared to the same period in 2015. Membership income has fallen 8% in this period and membership stands at 72,376.

The figures were presented by national treasurer Jer Bergin.
