Two Friesian bulls are recovering in Wexford following a cliff-diving escapade that required the intervention of Fethard-based RNLI. The lifeboat was called to save the two yearlings, who fell 15m from their cliff-top field on to the shoreline at Broomhill on 24 February.

Owner Ray Morrissey reports that both bulls are well after their adventure, which he believes may have been linked to Storm Doris.

“There is a fence between them and the edge of the cliff but the wire was broken. Something must have caught it during the storm,” he told The Dealer. “All 40 bulls were out on the wrong side of the wire. I think they must have pushed each other over the edge.”
