Members of Dunmore RFC are planning a big push in support of Pieta House this Saturday. They will use muscle power to move their club’s scrum training machine from the charity’s office in Tuam along the N17 and into Connacht Rugby Sportsground in Galway city ahead of the province’s game against Leinster in the evening.
To join the heave at home and raise more funds, members of the public are invited to film themselves pushing anything and to nominate friends to do the same, all while calling for donations. A sweaty version of the ice bucket challenge, so to speak.
Farmers and contractors have had no problem finding implements to take up the challenge, from bales...
