The trade can only be described as being very positive, both on the cattle and the sheep side. While factory lamb prices slipped by €2 to €3 last week, farmers are still very happy with the trade. Butchers lambs are scarce on the ground and, as a result, are commanding strong prices. Store lambs continue to be a very strong trade also, with plenty of buyers active at the ringside. The cattle trade remains firm. In recent weeks, there have been more autumn-born weanlings on offer and these have started off a very good trade. Exporters are active for top-quality types, while feeder activity is firm for all heavy feeding bulls.
