On Thursday, Minister for Agriculture Micheal Creed held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, H.E. Ahmet Esref Fakibaba, aimed at further boosting exports to Turkey of Irish cattle.
He will also meet with senior personnel from the Turkish Meat and Milk Board (ESK), which oversees cattle imports.
The Minister is accompanied on the visit by trade experts from Bord Bia and a number of cattle exporters.

Also on Thursday, the delegation was due to meet with Turkish livestock importers and attend the International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition expo in Izmir.
The delegation will hope to hear news of new contracts from the ESK for feeder bulls, or for slaughter weight cattle, or from private importers for further shipments of breeding heifers.
Minister Creed will also press his Turkish hosts for some indication if the ESK may later this year step back from awarding tenders and instead allow private importers negotiate directly with Irish exporters for supply of feeder bulls.
