The recent publication by the Department of Agriculture of the 2017 CAP beneficiaries shows the companies and organisations that benefited from EU payments last year.

The top companies/organisations are as follows:

Top of the list is the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI). The SBCI received €11.1m under temporary exceptional aid – which was the roll-out of the low-cost loans last year.

Top three

The top three excluding Teagasc on the list are organisations involved in direct contact with primary producers on the ground, providing services for advisory, aid, farm management and relief.

A direct payment of €182,158.55 was given to Godolphin Stud, which is owned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai. Godolphin also receives the highest direct payment in Co Kildare.
