The Dealer heard a rumour that those interested in building a relationship with LacPatrick have submitted their first stab of what and how much they are willing to pay and do.

I suspect a subcommittee of the LacPatrick head honchos will gather over the coming days to tease out the bids and sort out the skim from the infant powder. After that, I presume the legal eagles and accountants will get stuck in. There is the small matter of a shareholder vote. Following that, I suppose the competition authority might have a peep at the bid of choice.

My sources say over 500 farmers attended the shareholder meetings last week (about 50%), with a mix of frustration, positivity and blue sky gazing.

It sounds like it’s heading for an end game in the coming months, but that is for the LacPatrick board and the shareholders to decide.
