As drought conditions continue to add pressure to farms, the Samaritans has urged farmers to take care of their wellbeing and mental health.
“The drought is an additional burden to farmers when many of them might still be recovering from the stress of spring conditions,” Samaritans regional director Cindy O’Shea told the Irish Farmers Journal.

“Farming can be isolating and it’s important farmers know they can get in touch with us on the phone or through text or email.
“They should never feel afraid to ask for help, but equally it’s important for friends and family to be prepared be good listeners.”
