Glanbia announced this Monday that its milk price would remain unchanged for October at 30.36c/l.
This is the manufacturing price excluding VAT at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

Glanbia chair Martin Keane said: “As highlighted last month, milk suppliers should be aware that there has been a sharp reduction in dairy market returns which has not been reflected in the base milk price to date. The board will continue to monitor developments on a monthly basis”.
Despite a drop in Ornua's purchase price index last month, IFA dairy chair Tom Phelan has said that co-ops had failed to pass back previous increases observed since last May.
“Using the prices reported in the Irish Farmers Journalmilk price league for the main milk purchasing co-ops for May to September, a 350,000l supplier would have been better off by between €414 and €1,957 had he or she been paid the Ornua PPI milk price equivalent for the same period,” Phelan said.
With markets now less positive, he called on processors to at least maintain current price levels for the winter months.
