With spring sowing well underway in many areas around the country, we visited a number of our From the Tramline farmers during the week.

Last Tuesday we visited our Wexford Tramline farmer Vivion Tubritt. Vivion was sowing Laurette spring malting barley for Boortmalt on well drained, sloping banks in Saltmills.

Vivion was sowing the crop at 180kg/ha using his New Holland 6080 with a DA accord drill with a Rabe power harrow. The TGW of the seed was 48g.

All of the ploughing for spring cereals was completed in January in excellent conditions.
