As of 2018, the largest dairy farmer was producing an average of 73,730l/day and this figure was up 9% on 2017.

When the Irish Farmers Journal visited Brazilian dairy farmers over the last week, many were in expansion mode, with new sheds being built and plans firmly in place to increase cow numbers.
This reflects the results of a Top 100 Milk Point survey of dairy farmers in Brazil, in which 90% said that they had plans to increase milk production in the next three years.
As of 2018, the largest herd was producing an average of 73,730l/day, up 9% on 2017.

The survey revealed that 52% had a cost of production of between 0.25c/l to 0.31c/l.
