There will be information available to farmers on both farm security and farm safety at an upcoming event in Ballymahon Mart, Co Longford.
The event has been organised by local gardaí to run alongside the mart’s usual sale day on Thursday 25 April. It will run from 11am until 3pm.
No formal talks

There will be no formal talks on the day and instead farmers will have an opportunity to meet the local crime prevention officer, the community policing unit and the roads policing unit.
The roads policing unit will focus on trailer regulations and how to ensure compliance with road laws.
There will be information provided on marking trailers to deter thefts.
A Teagasc health and safety officer will also be in attendance to highlight small on-farm improvements that can be made to minimise safety hazards.
