Applications can now be made to Yield Lab Europe for its AgTech accelerator programme.

Some €500,000 is available to eligible startups, with plans for five successful applicants to receive €100,000 each and intensive mentoring. The funding is particularly aimed at companies that are looking into environmental sustainability and food security.

To date, Yield Lab has invested in eight companies – four of which are Irish-based.

Nicky Deasy, managing partner of Yield Lab Europe, said: “Our formula of offering both our own equity capital, alongside mentoring and access to market and the wider venture capital industry, is in high demand from ag tech startups across Europe, and we anticipate a lot of interest in this year’s programme. Our new €21m fund means we have the capability to do larger follow-on investments of up to €1m in our companies as they grow.”
