The reference period for the €100m Beef Exceptional Aid Measure (BEAM) scheme will be from 24 September 2018 to 6 May 2019, the Irish Farmers Journal can reveal.

As revealed by the Irish Farmers Journal on Thursday morning, payment rates under the BEAM scheme will be up to €100/head.

Beef finishers will be able to apply for a maximum of 100 animals under the scheme and these cattle had to be over 12 months of age when they were sent for slaughter within the reference period.
