Dawn Meats will not be taking part in this year’s Tullamore Show, the Irish Farmers Journal has learned.

The space where the Dawn Meats stand was due to be erected lies empty.

On Thursday, the Irish Farmers Journal saw the ABP stand being dismantled at the show site.

Both ABP and Tullamore Show have been contacted for comment.

Protests

The news comes after the Beef Plan Movement staged 22 protests at beef factories since 28 July.

On Thursday, Meat Industry Ireland (MII)) announced that it will seek a “legal remedy” to ongoing factory protests.

MII said it recognised the rights of suppliers to a peaceful protest, but that there had been “unlawful behaviour” by protesters at some sites, including intimidation and “outright illegality”.
