Video footage from Kildare Chilling on Sunday shows chaotic scenes as multiple cattle trucks attempt to access the factory while protesters gather at the entrance.

It shows a buggy being wheeled in front of a lorry by a man wearing a high-vis vest. The buggy later appears to be wedged under the front corner of the lorry.

In the video, one man is shouting: “There’s no child in it”, while another asks: “Drive over the buggy, is that what you’re saying?”

The buggy appears to contain a figure in a pink babygro, but the top half of the figure is covered with a red cloth or blanket. The figure does not appear to move during the incident.

Man on ground

The video also shows a man lying on the ground and being attended to by two other people.

It shows a separate truck driving into the factory as people cross in front of it. The lorry and several people make contact in the video.

A garda spokesperson told the Irish Farmers Journal that there were no arrests at the Kildare protest on Sunday and one man was removed to hospital by ambulance.

Earlier incident

It follows a previous incident last week at the same plant.

Video footage showed an incident involving protesters and a lorry delivering animals to the plant.

The footage shows a man pulling at the wipers of the lorry, standing on the front bumper and gesticulating to the driver of the lorry, before he opens the door of the lorry and there is an altercation with the driver.
