Dairygold chair John O'Gorman said that the increase is in response to some positivity in dairy powder markets in recent weeks.

"While at the same time, Dairygold continues to actively progress its current €130m capital investment programme across its dairy processing sites, to meet milk supplier members’ milk volume growth ambitions," he said.

The Dairygold board continues to monitor market developments and remains focused with regard to maximising the commercial return and ensuring operational efficiency.

It is the fourth processor to set a price for September. Glanbia, Lakeland and Kerry all held their prices for September.
