All formalities have now been completed for the 14 meat plants and two cold stores that have been approved by the Chinese market. Minister for Agriculture, Michael Creed has confirmed the following plants are now officially listed on the General Administration of Customs in China (GACC).

As previously reported in the Irish Farmers Journal, with seven beef exporting factories already doing business there, the Irish beef industry is now in a position to export three times as much beef with the addition of these extra factories.

Seven beef factories that are already approved are; ABP Nenagh and Clones; Kepak Clonee; Foyle Donegal; Liffey Meats, Slaney; and Dawn Charleville.
Audits for approval of the factories took place in September 2019, amidst the farmer protests outside the gates.
