A man driving a tractor, who was found to be disqualified from driving, was arrested on the M1 motorway by gardaí on Saturday night.
The man was driving a John Deere with a plough, which gardaí said “was completely unlit and a danger to fast approaching traffic”.
Dundalk RPU observed this tractor on M1 late last night! Plough on rear was completely unlit and a danger to fast approaching traffic.

Gardaí from Dundalk stopped the tractor and said that using the new Garda mobility app, they discovered the driver was disqualified from driving. He was arrested with proceedings to follow.
Farmers are not permitted to drive a tractor on a motorway that cannot travel at or maintain a speed of at least 50km/h.
